  • 2 slices rye bread
  • 4 oz corned beef, thinly sliced
  • 2 oz sauerkraut, drained
  • 2 slices Swiss cheese
  • 2 tablespoons Thousand Island dressing
  • 1 tablespoon butter

Method
 

  1. Spread Thousand Island dressing on both slices of rye bread.
  2. Layer one slice of bread with Swiss cheese, corned beef, and sauerkraut.
  3. Top with the remaining slice of Swiss cheese and the other slice of bread.
  4. Melt butter in a skillet or on a griddle over medium heat.
  5. Grill the sandwich for 3-4 minutes per side, or until golden brown and the cheese is melted and gooey.
  6. Cut in half and serve immediately.

Notes

For a crispier sandwich, use clarified butter or ghee.
